About Decisis
DECISIS is an online service, providing reports on all new judgments of the Irish superior courts.
It is:
Comprehensive - DECISIS covers every new judgment from the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court. Over 8,000 reports have been published since 2011. All reports are easily searchable by keyword, topic, court or judge.
Current - Within seven days of the publication of a new judgment on the Courts service web site, a report is published on DECISIS. An e-mail alert is sent to any subscribers with an interest in that field of law.
Clear - Reports on DECISIS are written in plain English for the benefit of busy lawyers, law students and other professionals.
A paid subscription service allows subscribers to:
- Access the search resource on the website
- Access premium content on the website
- Choose their topics of interest (over 100 to choose from) and to receive e-mail updates on these topics at a frequency that suits them.
DECISIS was originally entitled Stare Decisis Hibernia, and was named after the legal principle by which courts are obliged to respect the precedents established by prior decisions.

Law Ireland is an associated hard copy journal, published fortnightly by Wordwell Books. For lawyers or law students who prefer hard copy updates, it is a useful alternative. For more information, see: www.lawireland.ie
