The High Court dismissed an appeal brought by a client challenging a decision by the Legal Services Regulatory Authority to close her complaint against a solicitor. After an initial finding in her favour was overturned following an internal review, the matter was referred back to a newly constituted Review Committee, which again decided against the client and directed closure of the complaint. The client alleged procedural failures, particularly the lack of a request for fresh submissions and improper closure of her complaint. However, the court found that the Authority had acted within the terms of the High Court’s previous order and rejected the client's contention that the complaints process had to be restarted. The High Court further held that its role was limited to reviewing for significant error by the Review Committee and found none, resulting in the refusal of all reliefs sought by the client.
