The High Court has authorised the Adoption Authority of Ireland to proceed with an adoption order for a child in favour of his aunt and uncle, who have been his foster carers since shortly after his birth. The court also dispensed with the consent of his birth parents, acknowledging the child's desire for stability and the long-term nature of his current living arrangement. The original decision by the Adoption Authority of Ireland to support the adoption was upheld, with the court finding that all statutory requirements for adoption were met, including the child's best interests and the proportionality of the adoption.
