Court of Appeal allows appeal against severity in respect of one of a number of sentences imposed on an eighteen-year-old youth who robbed a number of commercial premises, including with the production of a knife, on the grounds that the headline sentence in respect of one offence had been too high in light of his age at the time of the offence and other mitigating factors.
Criminal law - severity of sentence - effective sentence of six-and-a-half years imprisonment - robbery, theft and production of an article capable of inflicting serious injury - robbery of newsagent - production of knife - robbery of other commercial premises - age of offender - pleas of guilty.
