Court of Appeal allows appeal of High Court order refusing the appellant to be paid from the Social Insurance Fund a debt due to her by her former employer (who became insolvent), and rules that the appellant is entitled to recover damages in the sum of €16,818.75 against the State for its failure to correctly transpose an applicable EU directive, on the grounds that there was a causal link between the failure to transpose the directive and the damages that the appellant has suffered.
