Court of Appeal dismisses appeal and upholds an order of the High Court granting a former police officer's application for disclosure of information from the Commissioner of An Garda Síochána, enabling him to proceed with a defamation lawsuit, on the grounds that the Commissioner's involvement in the alleged wrongdoing was significant enough to warrant disclosure, and the Commissioner's objections based on confidentiality and the potential prejudice to ongoing disciplinary proceedings did not outweigh the plaintiff's right to seek redress.
