High Court orders case management for two related proceedings, one involving a dispute over royalty payments from landfill operations ("the Greenstar proceedings") and the other alleging professional negligence by the plaintiff's former solicitors ("the professional negligence proceedings"). The court has directed that the Greenstar proceedings be heard first, with a stay on the hearing of the professional negligence proceedings until the Greenstar proceedings are determined. The court also ordered that both cases be heard by the same judge to ensure consistency and efficiency. In the Greenstar proceedings, the plaintiff is entitled to inspect the landfill site and the defendant must provide financial data relevant to the royalty payments since 2014. In the professional negligence proceedings, the court has sequenced the engagement of environmental and financial experts, with legal experts to engage independently of the other experts' engagements.
