Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal from the Court of Appeal, and affirmed a Central Criminal Court conviction for multiple counts of rape of one of the accused's granddaughters, and where he had pleaded guilty to additional counts of sexual assault against two other grandchildren. The court held that there had been no breach by the prosecution of the 'rule in Browne v. Dunn', which requires cross-examiners to put their evidence to the witness, and that the judge's comments to the jury had been fair.
