The Supreme Court, in a supplemental judgment, has ordered a retrial, after setting aside the acquittals of two individuals charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, finding that the trial judge made a legal error in directing the jury to acquit. The court emphasised the public interest in prosecuting such serious offences.
