High Court grants order accepting a plan which had been put in place for the treatment of a person of unsound mind who suffered from schizophrenia as well as complex behavioural conditions and an intellectual disability.
Application for placement – person of unsound mind not so found - suffers from a formal diagnosis of schizophrenia as well as complex behavioural conditions and an intellectual disability – late twenties – whether he lacks capacity – criminal charges in this jurisdiction – went to the UK for treatment – returned to Ireland – found that he lacked capacity – deterioration in mental health - at significant risk of causing serious harm to himself and others - Court accepts the plan which has been put in place for overseeing and governing the treatment of this young man - attempt will be made to rationalise the medication regime and treatment of this man over the coming months - guardian ad litem to continue.
