The High Court awarded damages of €944,074.46 to a former process technician who sustained injuries and developed PTSD following a workplace accident where he rescued a colleague. The court found that the plaintiff's right shoulder condition and psychological trauma were causally related to the accident, despite the defendant's contention of a lack of immediate symptoms. The plaintiff was unable to return to his previous role or secure alternative employment within the company, and was awarded damages for loss of earnings, pension rights, and future medical costs.
