Supreme Court dismisses appeal from High Court, and affirms the remittal of a strategic housing development application to An Bord Pleanála for reconsideration, following the quashing of a decision to grant permission for a large-scale residential development, for contravention of local development plan objectives, on the grounds that there was no lawful impediment to remittal and that remittal was now the default position in planning cases.

Remittal - An Bord Pleanála - planning permission - Strategic Housing Development (SHD) - Planning and Development Act - certiorari - High Court - Supreme Court - development plan - reconsideration - lawful - quashing decision - apartment development - public participation - fair procedures - statutory scheme - Large-scale Residential Development.
